Tower and Chief 7 go to Work at a 44 House PDF Print E-mail
Monday, June 09 2014 20:16

Just after 1600hrs PSC started receiving calls reporting a house on fire in the 6900blk of 18th Ave. Tower 7 was was dispatched as the first due truck, responded with 4, and Chief 7 responded as Battalion Chief 884. The first arriving engine reported fire showing from the second floor on sides Alpha and Delta. Tower 7 arrived shortly after the first engine and went to work splitting crews. Chief 7 was assigned as the Division 2 commander.

Tower 7's interior crew made their way into the house preforming a rapid primary search of the first floor as they made their way to the second floor. The interior crew preformed a rapid search of the second floor as well as opening up for the engine crew. The exterior crew proceeded to ladder side Alpha and Delta of the house, vent and clear the windows where the ladders were placed, control the gas to the house, and look for and exterior basement access. Once the exterior crew was finished with those duties, they made their way inside to look for the electric panel and meet up with the interior crew.

While making his way from the utility room to the front of the house, Deputy Chief Johns found two dogs that were missing. He grabbed one of the dogs, a firefighter from company 12 grabbed the other, and the two of them took the dogs to the owner outside of the house. The owner of the house was very grateful and had a smile on her face. Tower 7 continued to operate on the scene working with the investigators. Tower 7 cleared the scene at 1800hrs.
