After getting the lights put up from the yearly Santa run and exchanging gifts, the members were woken up but not by the sound of Santa but by PSC dispatching the box for a reported house fire in the 4900blk of Newton St in company 9's first due. Engine 72 responded with 6 personnel and arrived as the third due engine. The engine company laid a secondary water supply and stretched the 400' line to the rear. The crew entered the rear of the house to back up and assist in knocking the fire in the basement.

With the fire being under control command scaled back the incident in 30 minutes and Engine 72 cleared the scene in just over a hour from dispatch.
