On September 10th at 1114hrs PSC dispatched the box for 6813 Riverdale Rd for the reported building fire. Tower 7 responded with 4 personnel as the first due truck, Chief 7 and Chief 7A also responded. Chief 7 arrived on the scene with smoke showing from a three story in the front garden style apartment and established the Command. Chief 7A arrived on the scene and was assigned to Division 1 with engine 828 and Tower 7. Tower 7 laddered side Alpha and opened up on Division 1. Units found a fire in the basement on side Charlie.

Due to the fire being started by workers sweating pipes and the fire extending up the pipe chases, Command called for the second alarm. The fire in the basement was knocked and extensive overhaul was needed to ensure the fire did not extend up the building. Tower 7 operated on the scene for just over 3 hours. On this incident one of our members experienced a medical emergency and was transported by EMS to a local hospital. He has since been released.
