Sunday December 21, 2014 as the crews were finishing up with cooking dinner and were just about to sit down to eat the station tones went off alerting Engine 73 as the third due engine to 3401 Bunker Hill Rd in company 55's (Brentwood) first due. Engine 73 responded with 7 volunteers, Chief 7A (Deputy Johns) responded as Battalion Chief 884, and Chief 7 (Carpio) also responded on the box. First arriving units reported on the scene with a two story apartment building with fire showing from the first floor Alpha Bravo quadrant.

Chief 7A arrived on the scene and assumed the command. Engine 73 arrived on the scene positioning on side Delta of the building and established a secondary water supply. The crew advanced a 200' cross lay to Division 2 via a ladder on side Alpha. Engine 73's officer (Lt. Naples) was assigned as the Division 2 Supervisor. The fire was held to the apartment of origin with minor extension to the second floor. The driver from Engine 73 (Asst. Chief Sutton) secured the power to the building as truck 1 assisted in opening up Division 2.

The fire was knocked in 15 minutes. Command scaled back the assignment to 2&2 within 30 minutes and Engine 73 cleared the scene in just over a hour. There were no injuries on this fire but there were 6 occupants displaced.
