March 7th, 2017 - Approximately 1700 hours Engine 73 was returning to quarters from an activated fire alarm when Public Safety Communications advised Engine 807 and Engine 812 to a large brush fire in Company 814's (Berwyn Heights) first due. First arriving units found a large brush fire approximately 2 miles off the roadway and inaccessible to any vehicles. Due to the large amount of fire encountered and difficulty accessing the fir and a water supply, Command (Battalion 884) upgraded the assignment to a working incident. Engine 807 with Engine 812 established a water supply involving relay pumping from supply Engine 835 to the attack Engine 811. Crews on Engine 807 then worked with crews on scene with establish a fire break and then soaking the area thoroughly until command cleared the assignment at roughly 2030 hours.
