On Saturday October 6, 2012 the members of The Riverdale Fire Department participated in the annual Riverdale Park Day held at Riverside Community Park. The fire department handed out fire prevention materials, preformed demonstrations, helped teach future fire fighters how to put fire out, and of course cooked food for those in attendance. There was also demonstrations conducted by the Prince George's County Office of Emergency Management. While participating in the Riverdale Park Day events, the department answered several calls for service and kept a crew at the event the whole time.
