The members were just getting finished cleaning the station and preparing for dinner when PSC dispatched the box for 8015 Rhode Island Ave in company 12's first due. The company was dispatched with both the Tower and Engine. The Tower, with 5, was the first due truck, Engine 73, also with 5, was the third due engine, and Chief 7B responded. Tower 7 arrived on the scene and went to work with laddering sides "A" and "B", primary search of the second and third floors, lights, and ventilation. Engine 73 arrived on the scene and advanced a 400' 1.74" line through a neighbor's yard to side "C" and stood fast. Company 12 advised they had a small fire in the basement and command scaled back the assignment to company 12. Riverdale units went in service in just over 20 minutes.
