The members at Riverdale had just finished apparatus checks and going over the county's Heat Advisory Plan, when at 1604hrs PSC dispatched box 55-1 for 3810 40th St, in Cottage City, for the house on fire. Tower 7, Chief 7A and Chief 7B responded with 8 personnel as the first due truck. The engine from 55 went on the scene with fire showing from side "B". Company 7 arrived on the scene and went to work performing the primary search, placing three ladders, and venting the house. Chief 7A was assigned interior and Chief 7B was assigned Division 2. With searches proving negative and the fire being knocked, Command started rotating crews. All units worked on the scene for about 90 minutes before Command scaled it back to engines 553, 94, truck 1, and Tower 7. The Tower went in service just before 1930hrs.
