Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Print

As is tradition at the Riverdale Fire Department, on Christmas Eve the members paraded through the Town of Riverdale Park and surrounding areas (the company's first due response area) with Santa Claus prominently mounted atop the apparatus.  This yearly effort is much appreciated by the community and looked forward to each year.

On Christmas Day, the station was filled with members taking time from their friends and family to ensure adequate protection to the community.  It was, for the most part, a relaxing day.  The sole exception being a morning house fire in company 44's area.  Unfortunately, the fire displaced a family.  Fortunately, companies 7 and 44 still had toys remaining from their recent toy collections and were able to provide toys to the family bringing some joy to comfort them in their time of need.

The members enjoyed breakfast and a prepared dinner, donated in part by Wegman's, as well as sharing some camaraderie during this holiday season.

The officers and members of the Riverdale Fire Department hope the each and every visitor to our site has had a Safe and Happy Holiday Season, and we wish you all  SAFE and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!  See you in 2011!
