Tuesday morning the members at Riverdale were awoke by PSC dispatching Engine 72 as the third due engine to 3302 Otis St in company 55's area. Truck 55 arrived on the scene with "heavy fire showing" from side Alpha of a 1.5 story single family home. Engine 72, with 7 personnel, arrived on the scene laying in from their own hydrant and advancing a line to side Charlie finding fire also showing from the rear. The crew made entry into the house from a door on side Delta and proceeded to work on the two rooms in the rear of the house. After a few minutes, and with progress being made, command hit the EVAC tones pulling everybody out. Units on side Alpha proceeded to make an exterior attack with hand held master streams. After the fire was darkened on side Alpha crews went back inside to complete the job of hitting hot spots and extension. With the fire under control command scaled back the units and Engine 72 returned to service at 0900hrs.
