On September 22, 2013, after another busy day in Riverdale, Engine 73 was back at it again, this time responding for an accident with injuries on Baltimore Ave and Wells Parkway at 19:54 hrs. While en route, PSC advised Engine 73 that they were receiving reports of a vehicle overturned, off the road way about 10-14 ft down in a drainage ditch. PSC started the rescue assignment, bringing Squad 1 and Technical Rescue 14. The Engine Company arrived on scene and had one vehicle down the embankment on its side with three occupants outside of the vehicle stating there was one more trapped inside. With the amount of patients, the crew split up with one member pulling a line for fire suppression. The Engine driver lowered a 14 ft ladder to gain access to the patient. The rest of the crew began patient care. Chief 7A established command and Ambulance 77, who was clearing from a previous call, was added on the assignment. Squad 1 arrived on scene, stabilized the vehicle and started to flap the roof down to gain access to the trapped occupant. Technical Rescue 14 set up rigging for below grade rescue, and also assisted Squad 1 with the extrication.  All Four patients were transported to the hospital while the trapped occupant was transported as a Trauma code. Unfortunately, despite best efforts of crews on scene, the one victim succumbed to there injuries.
