New Pumper Progress Report Print
Friday, July 17 2009 21:36

After a brief hiatus for the July 4th holiday week, the folks at Pierce have been hard at work making progress on the new pumper.

This week the cab completed the paint process and received a protective coating application.  The pump house and the body have completed fabrication, and the body has begun the paint process.  The next step should be the cab entering the cab line where cab related components are added.  The pump house should begin the paint process and the body should be completeing the process.

At the end of July, an inspection team will depart for the Pierce factory to do an on-site inspection and verify the build is going as ordered.  This will be at approximately the half-way point in the build process.  A final trip will be scheduled as a firm completion date becomes available.  Until then, look for further updates here.

Here's some pictures of the work to date.
