On Saturday August 10, 2013, The Riverdale Fire Department celebrates the one year anniversary of becoming 100% Volunteer. It was one year ago when the leadership of the department was notified that we would no longer have career staffing assigned to our station to cover the day to day operations of the department. In that year the members of the department have stepped up and done their best to cover the staffing 24 hours a day 7 days a week. In that year the department has responded to over 4000 calls for service. As a department we have had ups and downs, good times and bad times, but have always put the community first. On this one year anniversary the Officers would like to thank the members that have given up so much of their time to the department to protect the community that we live in.
