Tower 7 Runs Second Alarm on The First Call Back in Service PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, June 08 2011 13:20

As dinner time rolled around at Riverdale, the crew decided that they wanted to go get dinner on the engine. As they were making their way back with dinner, PSC dispatched the box for 5328 85th Ave in company 28's first due for the apartment on fire. Minutes later PSC transferred Tower 7 to company 28. While the Tower was making it's way to West Lanham  station 28 the second alarm was dispatched bring Tower 7 and Chief 7B to the scene. Chief 7B was the first arriving chief on the second alarm and was assigned as the Staging Officer. Tower 7 arrived on the scene shortly after and was quickly sent to work.

Tower 7's crew was sent to the "Bravo" exposure on division 3 to open up and preform the primary search. The crew worked for several hours in the Bravo exposure opening up and hitting hot spots. With the fire under control command scaled back the units and held Tower 7 on the scene till right around midnight.

As Tower 7 worked on the fire, Ambulance 77 was dispatched on the working fire dispatch and while on the scene transported one patient from a couple buildings away. Once they cleared the hospital they returned to work in the rehab sector until being released by command. Engine 73 stayed home and ran a couple of calls protecting the area.
